The HSA is a non-profit organization developed to foster effective communication between the parents and staff of the Readington Township Schools and to enhance the social and educational benefits our children receive in the school district. The HSA is able to function independently and be totally responsive to the individuals with the greatest interest in its work: the parents, staff and students of the Readington Township Schools.
Why not a PTA or a PTO?
Actually, the Readington HSA is a PTO!
PTO is a generic term that covers groups that operate under their own bylaws and, in large, concern themselves with the goings-on at their building or in their town only. The national PTA is a formal membership organization headquartered in Chicago. Local groups that choose to belong to the PTA must pay dues to the state and national organization and abide by state and national group rules. In return, they get member benefits and a voice in the operations of the larger organization.
The debate between the two forms of organization has been simple to frame: Do we want to be part of something larger and spend our group dollars outside of our school? Or do we want to focus exclusively on improving and creating community at our school?
The founders of the Readington HSA choose the latter. As a result, the HSA is able to function independently and be totally responsive to the individuals with the greatest interest in its work: the parents, staff and students of the Readington Township Schools.

Education: Cultural Arts, Mini-Grants, Scholarships
Social Activities: Block Parties, Halloween Events, Mini-Courses, Field Days, Picnics, Color Run, and more
Service Activities: Book Fairs, Clothing Drives, Shopping Incentives (Box Tops), Holiday Shoppe, Hospitality, Staff Appreciation, Sunshine, School Supply Kits, and more
Fundraising: Invest in Your Child program, Spirit Wear Sales
